1967 BMW R60/2 in Dover White. 600cc Boxer Twin.

Beautiful Dover White BMW R60/2. Triple matching numbers and Bing carburettors correctly numbered in sequence.

This particular R60/2 is an ex. police motorcycle with just 3 owners from new:

Police 1967-1971

First owner 1971-1978

Second owner 1978-2022

The last owner restored the bike from the ground up in the late 1990s. The engine was rebuild by a BMW specialist. There are numerous receipts for parts and work with the bike. Many thousands spent on the rebuild. Restored to its original Police spec: Dover White paint, chrome panels on the tank, high rise handlebars and polished alloy shrouds for the front suspension.

Since the restoration the R60/2 has done 4510 km in total. The bike starts easily and is the most silent running BMW I have heard. The engine just ticks along like a Swiss clock.

The paint and chrome is in very good condition. It is not a newly restored bike but a very well kept one and it shows throughout. The front and rear hubs have a brush wire mounted in the center to keep them clean. Clearly a particular owner. The “Schorsch-Meier” Sports petrol tank is sprayed with red primer inside and is in new condition, absolutely no rust.

Two Bosch horns and two red Bosch lights as used by the Police are still with the bike. A Denfeld chrome rear rack is also mounted. A few other spares are included.

The BMW is registered on current EU registration documents.
