1964 Rickman Metisse Mk. 3

This 1964 Rickman Metisse Mk. 3 is a one-owner scrambler in immaculate original condition. Sold new in 1965. Fitted with the original Matchless G880CS all alloy engine.

The Rickman Metisse has a perfect patina throughout with all nuts and bolts retaining their crisp, sharp edges. I doubt the engine has ever been apart or out of the frame. Engine compression is very good. The Lucas Competition magneto sparks brightly.

The engine is stamped 64-3, no doubt the year and month it was supplied to or build into a Mk.3 frame by the Rickman Brothers.

The scrambler must have seen very limited use and it will be very hard to find another in this condition. A scan of the original 1965 sales invoice comes with the bike.

Considering that Steve McQueen build his own Rickman scrambler mount in 1966, he would no doubt have approved of this fine specimen.
