1959 BMW R69. 600cc Boxer Twin

The R69 was the fastest road going BMW money could buy in the 1950s.

This lovely example from 1959 has triple matching numbers and correct Bing carburettors numbered in sequence.

It is an older restoration with 11.412 kms on the clock. For the last ten years, the R69 was kept in a collection of German, British and Italian cars and motorcycles.

The R69 is fitted with a beautiful large capacity Hoske Sports petrol tank (I believe a capacity of 31 liters!). The Hoske petrol tank could be purchased separately from Ernst Hoske, who ran a small after-market parts company supplying BMW customers with sporty after-market parts, much in the same way as Dunstall did for Norton customers in the UK.

A Giuliari sports seat is also fitted. There is one small tear to cover, however it is out of sight underneath the strap that runs across the seat.

The motorcycle is in a lovely condition throughout, all paint and chrome is in excellent condition. There is one tiny dent and small repair to the paint on the petrol tank by the headstock but it is not very visible.

The engine is as smooth as any other well build BMW boxer engine and all gears engage easily.
